feck it im gonna say a few things anyway lol, rite cornwall was gazumped long ago by landed gentry and rich outsiders.. all mineral rights are owned one way or other by those same folks and never come up for sale ,mines have failed cos rights wouldnt be granted (not the cornishes fault) also there are no cornish left cos they left long ago forced away starving hungry and understandably sold to anyone that had money not that most owned anything back then there sure wasnt the thatcherite ideal what came up then wasnt sold to locals it went to those that had money that wasnt anyone down here was it ? again not the fault of cornish folks) most of cornwall is owned by outsiders thats been the case for a long time , house prices are artificially hi down here because lord muck and co wont rent let alone sell.. this is born out by this figure .. 29 ,000 properties empty ,also if u take a right wing slant on things u cant decry the demise of things.. u believed in market forces not strategic minerals policies, im afraid when u take a right wing slant /line this is what u get ...total waste of things like folks skill knowledge and all it all smashed up filled in etc etc..ps isnt it a shame crofty wasnt mothballed cos prices recovered enough in 5 yrs or so after the closure but it had no chance because of the lies told ...the so called experts all tories with shares in rtz and the rest saying mining is finished tin is worthless!all bs im no expert really just reasonably informed and know the business as i was part of it till the last day , i knew why the tin price was so low because of the huge stock pile... that the situation on the ground being actually a shortage and price rises loomed , anyway conservative anything yes even tory labour just equals selfish not hang in spend a few quid now it'll come good again, its all about hard cash ..my moanage about off topic was because the threads about large scale mining returning to mid cornwall not any of that other stuff in this thread.
