Evening all, having just been on the phone to arrange hire of the key from the QA it appears someone has made-off with one of their keys, to cover the cost of replacement and the eventuality of it happening again, they've now raised the hire fee to £10.

If it was taken home absent-mindedly then I'd understand, but seeing as the QA contacted you repeatedly and you kept replying you'd return it and then stopped answering their calls all together...? Well in my view thats called stealing.

Now, especially these days, £10 is actually *quite* a lot of money so, on behalf of myself and all others who hire the keys and now have to fork out twice as much each time, thanks, really appreciate it 😠

Given thats its someone who knew where to pick up the key, I'm guessing its someone on one of the mine ex websites, so I'm also posting this on DP and ME. The QA are also hopefully digging out the details of the culprit so I intend to 'name and shame' in due course. This isn't usually my style but...hopefully everyone (mods?) will appreciate this...

If you are reading this, then may I strongly suggest you return the forthwith, as the QA are understandably quite upset.

And as the old saying goes, may your pubes be infected with crabs and yours arms shrink too much to be able to scratch

Why not just change the lock
Then the knob head wont have a key ?

Also put his phone number up on here and we can all ring him and ask for the return of the key at any hour of the day or night ! LOL!

Because its not a lock as such, its a 17mm allen key, standard across Wiltshire!

It seems rather steep of the QA to increase the cost of replacing an Allen Key. IF its just a standard shape 17mm Allen key then -

Loads on Ebay and not very expensive

Some people will steal anything
you only have to walk around B@Q or Currys and see all the knobs missing off the appliances

I might have to pay a visit then, was looking for a plastic knob for my cooker and they are £17 each.

I think the issue is not so much cost, but the abuse of goodwill. The original £5 (?) for the key was more of a gesture to the QA for letting people use the carpark. Both for parking and changing.

Those who have their own keys would be visiting the pub after a visit to pay their goodwill fee in beer money.

Would be a shame if a good relationship is spoiled. I'm sure the locals will be on the case in resolving any difficulties.
