My family history dates back as far as I can trace it , to the late
1700's around Trevarth, Lanner and Gwennap.
All of my ancestors worked in tin or copper mining, mostly at Ting
Tang and Mount Wellington.
I was born in Lanner and now live in Surrey, I am disabled and cannot
get to Cornwall very often, but am hoping to come down in September.

Can you point me in the right direction to find information and
photo's of the above mines.

Also I am tremendously interested in the Redruth - Chacewater railway
as it ran at the bottom of our garden, if you also have that?

I found you on Google, Any information would be gratefully received

Thank you :flowers:

Hi Irene,

I found this external link to some info on Ting Tang (there is not much posted in the AN database):

http://www.cornwallinfocus.co.uk/history/tingtang.php

There are some photos of Mount Wellington in the database though, here:

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/Mount-Wellington-Tin-Mine/

and also the Redruth and Chasewater Railway, here:

http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/Redruth-and-Chacewater-Railway/

Hope this is of some help 😉
