Any news on how Geevor Tin Mine is developing, especially with their plan to open a new underground experience? I assume if they plan to reach 20th century workings they will have to use Victory Shaft?

Their web site gave some new updates in April, but I think one of the guys involved may occasionally post on this forum.
Last update was that they were getting things in place to pump down to the 3rd level. They are usually quite good at posting recent updates on their website.

Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

We have managed to get some remedial work done in Deep Adit to ensure that drainage is maintained. Access is possible - pm me for details. We would like very much to have public [i.e. punter] access to to workings at Deep Adit, but this is a megabucks project - HLF won't touch it. We hope to get an extension to our tourist mine [fingers crossed for the funding] but we do have the best small mining museum in the world [?] now open.

How much of the mine is accessible above water Bill? Are there any workings between deep adit level and the surface or is that level all there is?

How is the Wheal Mexico visitor mine being extended, extra length of tunnels or has the blocked shaft I saw (when Ian Davey took me down a few years ago) been cleared and lower levels opened up?

Deep Adit drains about 400' of backs and there is a large area of workings accessible. If we get the funding, the Wheal Mexico extension will be by clearing out existing tunnels running inland. There would be another shaft to be seen and an area of stoping.

Am I right in thinking that Wheal Mexico is literally scratching the surface of deep adit?

I can't remember where I've seen a good section, but it's not in the Noall book. Maybe I'm thinking about Levant....
