If you've been watching the new/updated mines section on the home page, or watching the vast number of SW photos uploaded you'll have seen the names Carnkie, ICLOK and Spitfire rather a lot of late ;)

All three have been working very hard adding descriptions and working on the SW database. A good example being Basset mines http://www.aditnow.co.uk/mines/Basset-Ltd-Tin-Mine/  now with description, references and all the shafts, stamps and tramway that served the mine linked through the MSF system.

When I set this site up I never imagined there'd be so much goodwill around from so many people with so much knowledge who were prepared to spend so much time contributing.

Basically, thanks chaps, from everybody. Similarly everybody else who has contributed, thank you. It really is building up into quite a resource - but it'd be nothing without all you contributors.

At the beginning of the year I did a posting after a count of the mines, photos etc. on here. I dread to think how much it's grown in 7 months...

I have noticed how a significant number of SW mines have been given names in CAPITALS. Now I don't mind this, except that there is a mixture of lower and upper case mine names and it looks a bit naff. Another thing I have noticed is that if you change the name of a mine, the gallery heading seems to keep the original name and does not switch to the new one. This is not a complaint, just an observation, and I wonder if there is a fix.

A huge quantity of data was contributed by two well known members. It had the names in upper case.

Galleries are separate database entities, so you're correct in saying that changes to mine names do not automatically cascade down to the galleries.

Noted re the UPPER CASE but we can't stop people entering data how they want to, I personally don't care as long as there aren't 3 mines of the same name but will if its gonna bother folk amend them as I find them.
We are starting to dent the vast topic that is the SW and its complex history.
Its been great fun so far and we will carry on trying to get the major sites entered in great detail (thats if Carnkie, Spitfire and myself don't kill each other by PM and phone.... ho ho)

I'll add what little I have - and bow to the experts if I get anything wrong. Just uploading a few sketches at the moment.

Hey anything you got is good... since we started doing this we've had some cracking stuff put up.... thats what keeps amazing me ... the quality older images that people have got... its turning into a wonderful SW pictorial record in its own right... in fact I think looking at aditnow in general I can see this becoming a huge and popular photo resource and archive. I already know schools that have used the DBase to show mines in their area 😉

Word of warning - remove any signatures from any drawings you upload - I just took four sketches down and reloaded them without my moniker!

I'm rather glad I don't have to pay prescription charges for valium. Although when I think about it single malt is is a tad more expensive.
And more enjoyable and as Morse said.........

Weekend after next there is a mining village festival down here that includes Carharrack and the railway walk highlighting the railway history of Carharrack with Eric Rabjohns. He knows his onions

Tintagel coastal slate quarries now added, with a few photos. If you have never visited these, I recommend it. There are few slate quarries like these for a dramatic location.

I started ParkLane. However, to put pictures up, we have to wait for some kind of permission from land owner. I have not forgotten. Just awaiting the permission. I will finish it when permission is gained.

Yes I did. I had to create a new Record for the Liskeard and Caradon Railway. It needs a lot more information though.
