Had a look in here the other day whilst poking around in Lathkill Dale. Has anyone been past the squeeze at the end? Does the level continue past this point? Any info gratefully received.

The quick answer is that I've been in but I can't remember if I went past the squeeze or not! I'll have to go back and have another poke at some point. Incidentally, did you see the small rift further up the track? Mostly natural, but enlarged in places by miners as evidenced by a couple of shotholes

Yes, I noticed the rift a few years ago whilst out walking and made a mental note to have a look sometime, so we did walk up the track and have a look in it. Where it levels out past the step down at the bottom of the slope it constricts rapidly - is it worth trying to squeeze through or is that the end?

IIRC it does close down but it's quite a few years since I went in there and I didn't take notes at the time - it was before I got into the habit of writing everything up for the O&D section of the PDMHS newsletter. I do remember we didn't think it worth the effort of pushing.

Yes, we're not far away. If you happen along the road from Stags Head to Tregaron any time and the car is at Allt Lwyd, call in for a cup of tea and some mine talk!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
