Only thing of note on Old Maps are some limekilns a little west of the museum, do you have a FlashEarth link?

Edit: I suppose the tunnel marked on map is too far south?

The gated addit you saw is "Smiths Addit" a modern 70,s
drive back down into Old Glory Mine, now distroyed by the
limestone quarry.
Beyond the gate is a passage about 50m to a section of ring
arches which was dug thru in the late 1980,s.
About 150m of old and new workings to a second more
secure collapse.
Some lead and fluorite deposites but Tramway are reluctant
to give access to this and other mines nearby

Is this the adit that's about 50 yards from a grilled shaft? The gated adit being just under a rocky overhang?
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

Sorry most Crich mines are deep,Old Glory 840 ft and Old
End mine went down to 900 ft +.
The area is drained by 3 radiating soughs, and the only places
possible to dive would be Wakebridge No1 and No2 of which
access is thru Wirkswoth Mines.
