MOLES, of which I am a member, alongside at least 2 other members of Aditnow, is due (so I've been told by one of them!) to hold its AGM on the 7th - 8th of March but so far the paperwork with the details has not appeared through the post. I know that there has been a change of Membership Secretary since last year but I'm sure I've heard that the new one has been unwell over Christmas and that this may be causing the delay. I'm growing concerned about this so can anyone shed any light on the current situation? I need to renew my membership as well as book a place at the AGM soon!

I am a member too - but have not had any newsletter / paperwork etc for ages. Had wondered what was going on.

The problem with the newsletter has been a lack of material to include in it, I think! The plea for articles from members seems to have fallen on deaf ears, sadly. Jean Tyler's death seems to have affected the organisation as well, not least for Ian himself who now has to run the Keswick museum almost solo, he hardly ever leads meets anymore. You probably know all this though so sorry for rambling on a bit!

I also picked up that Ian is to release his latest book around teh same time?

Is he? If it's on time that would be a first! It's his last book as well, on Roughten Gill and the Northern Caldbeck Fells.

Yet more money I may have to spend that weekend 😞
