Just got back from the latest sortie. Spent a couple of hours wandering around. Great to see hobnail boot and horseshoe prints together. Also a makeshift danger sign. (was this originally to warn of firing?). Came across a tin with a tantalising glimpse of a name on it. No idea what it is but I bet someone will enlighten me. Also found a couple of odd shaped steel thingies anyone any ideas as to what they are?. (see photos). A really great evening once again, there is so much to discover. Every trip reveals more of the mines secrets and it is fascinating seeing the results of hard labour. I am starting to recognise quite a few of the tunnels now so it makes it easier to explore new ground, and boy is there a lot of new ground to explore. I did think of mapping as we go but sheesh what a job.
Anyway here are tonights photos

The steel thingy is the spring like clip on the bottom of an older Holman or similar rock drill to hold the drill in place, flip it back to change the drill.

Ahh! Thats why it looked somehow familiar. I often use the modern version on electric breakers. Thanks for enlightening me. 🙂

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
