The latest issue of Current Archaeology magazine has a good article on the excavations at High Rake mine, well illustrated throughout including an excellent kite air photo courtesy of Toadstone! Apart from one minor editiorial hiccup (digging started in 2000, not 1980) it gives a good overview of the dig and the mine history.

They've been quite into mine archaeology recently, the previous issue covered Alderley Edge!
