I've been browsing through the category "Two foot gauge railways" in Wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Two_foot_gauge_railways
and looked in the Eigiau Tramway entry.
There is a photo, held by Gwynedd Archives, of a locomotive being hauled up the second of the Dolgarrog inclines.
That was some incline!!
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.
