I think its great that you are out there enjoying our local mines and I hope you long continue to do so but you should know that the Teesdale landowners are particularly anti having people underground and posting public videos naming Teesdale and exactly where you are going is an invitation to having entrances sealed up.

If its hits you're after, try different subject material (like OMG - Cat looks like Hitler) U/G is a VERY niche subject. Not aiming this at you in particular, but sploshing along a level with banal ill-informed commentary and occasional 'thonk' of a helmet is about as entertaining as filling in a VAT return.

As Spartylea says (and has been aired repeatedly in Forum) landowners are getting wise to this sort of thing and something like this could be the prompt to fire up the big yellow toys.

By all means record footage for your own amusement, just be careful what and where you post, especially regarding identification of sensitive (ie 90% of) sites.

Safe exploring

Same problem down in the South West. Some group of publicity seekers have posted up a video explore of Phoenix up on Caradon, an incredibly sensitive area as far as mine exploration is concerned. And people wonder why we are so secretive in Cornwall.

By all means explore but please keep it under the radar.

Thank you all for your feedback, maybe shoudnt have posted the link on here, as your all experts in the field and our video is just two hobbyists enjoying an explore.

Taken note of your worries in regard to landowner and sealing up of entrances, although we started the channel to allow people who cant access these places to see whats down there from the safety of their armchairs, to this end we will continue to post and enjoy the experience, but will be careful where to post links to the vid etc.

Happy Exploring everyone !!

Its not the most exciting or informative video , but for someone whose woes have prevented me exploring its nice to see. I would love to be poodling around in nice cool wet levels at the moment

Its not that people on here don't want to see it, but maybe a bit more discreet about the specific area . Leave to a statement like the North East.

Thank you moorebooks and royfellows, I will certainly take the "teesdale" bit off any future videos and just either name the mine or say "north east" as to not draw attention to the area in which it is located.

I'm just editing the next video and its a little bit more exciting as the air started to get bad so tested it with a lighter and lets just say the levels of oxygen must have being pretty low so we turned back.

Famous last words?

I'm not really a great fan of watching people in overalls trudging through muddy passages, but at least this film has very good video and audio quality.

Just don't name the mine or the Oxygen levels even more excuse for less than friendly landowners to seal entrances. It's a fine balance, enjoy your explorations just avoid sensationalism. There will be morons out there who want to test their abilities

Please, please --- NO PUBLICITY! I have already seen a video on a public Facebook page. As everyone has advised before, please do not publicise these places. We will lose them forever and nobody will be able to enjoy them in the future.

Cheers kesh, just keep things anonymous please.
Many of us have been exploring since before the current attitudes to liability and protecting people from themselves were much of a thing and we have had plenty time to explore freely, but we've also lost more than a few places to the actions of nervous landowners so everyone really needs to be more circumspect now if we wish to carry on exploring.
