Morning,
BBC Four is currently showing a series of programs about the Yorkshire Dales, presented by Paul Rose.
I think these have been on previously, but last night's episode (Swaledale) featured an interview with Dave Carlisle and then a trip up Sir Francis level. Unfortunately, they had to cut the visit short before reaching the engine chamber due to deteriorating air quality. Worth a look though, if you haven't seen it before.

Hi,

I think it's been covered on the forum when it was first screened ??

A great series that really shows off the Dales for what they are - stunningly beautiful :)

I enjoyed the Swaledale episode and the Sir Francis trip. Shame they didn't make it to the engine room, it would be nice to see some professionally, well lit, film of it before it falls into decay.

I've been trying to get into Sir Francis for a few years now, unsuccessfully. If anyone's organising a trip there this year, please publicise it on the forum ;)

Cheers,
Graeme.

Yes, I seem to remember it probably was mentioned last time it was screened. I missed it that time so was glad to see it this time around. Sir Francis still on my 'to do' list too. One day!

Yes, I'm up for that too.

I'll even help sherpa dive tanks and weightbelts if we can persuade Chris E to tag along to do you-know what

Chris and I have been chatting a fair bit about that, mate.
He’ll take zero persuading to get in there!
