They spent all the capital. Drilling equipment was removed last year.

Thanks for the info mr jackson , i have followed the minco test drilling project for years now and belive that minco are no more as they are now part of buchans resources that still have the north pennines as one of the main projects on the webite.
They seem to be drilling all over the world and finding money for those projects , so with having good results from around nenthead its a shame it all came to nothing it would have been great for the north pennines to start mining again .

Sorry to drag up an old thread but I have been away for about ten years. What were they prospecting in Nenthead? I didn't know about this. It was quite a surprise to read this.

zinc! take a look at investor reports for the price of zinc metal, past and forecast. Increasing demand, and falling supply.

Hi Dean, as I understand it Minco’s original aim was to prove mineralisation in the Melmerby Scar Limestone, which is one of the thickest of the Carboniferous limestone series.
Unfortunately they did not find anything easily in this strata, and then put all their efforts on re-examining the Great and little limestones.
They found some marginal deposits but not the large deposits that modern mines need in order to establish a new processing plant.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
