Hi all new to the forum well this one I am a caretaker and in out loft we well I was having a clear and a sort out I found a roll of paper.
This when opened was dated 1835? It looks like a ledger of some sort for a colliery Shipley year ending 3rd Jan 1835 it reads on the top abstract of Shipley collieries for one year ending Jan 1835.
The other reads abstract of each pits for 6 months ending Dec 31st 1824.
Not sure if they are just copies I will try if poss to place a pic if I fail and anyone wants to view them you can send me your email and I will forward them on

Thanks for bringing this to the forum Steve, is this Shipley in Derbyshire or Yorkshire? Both have coal mines.

I'd suspect anything saying Shipley Colliery refers to Derbyshire, but Shipley in Yorks had coal mining from possibly Roman times.

Hi sorry I don't know what area the ledgers came from they are not a book more of a poster size rolled up if they are any good to some one they are more than welcome to have them they would look good in a frame but they are about 2ft by 3ft
