Hi everyone, good to be here. I'm from the Llyn Peninsula and for the last 18 months have had a fascination with old mines, slate mines mostly. Been exploring Croesor, Rhosydd, Cwmorthin, and Wrysgan, and Maenofferen, Cwt y Bugail, Craig Ddu, Fotty and Bowydd, Diphwys, and the Prince of wales mine in Cwm Pennant. Also copper mines on Yr Aran, and y Lliwedd, and Cwm Bychan above beddgelert. Also a few lead and copper mines in the woods above Maentwrog, and as far down as Cwm Ystwyth near Aberystwyth. Usually go exploring with my mate Ifor, and we both wished we'd started years earlier...lol.. Not youngsters at 59, and hopefully we can carry on exploring for a few more years.
We were at Wrysgan last Sunday, and spent around five hours underground exploring the various levels. 🙂

Hi Weshken,
You certainly have come the right place.
I am sure, the welsh mine explorers will be only to keen to give you lots of assistance.
Age is only relative, I am still at Mine exploration in my mid 70’s.

Really nice mine Sinker, had a smashing few hours there. Just spent four hours in Cwmorthin yesterday, took hundreds of photos and loads of video as I always do...lol..
And only got lost once, which is good for us, but I let Ifor navigate because he was the key holder and 'responsible person'...;D

"Responsible person" is always a subjective term....and should always be in inverted commas!

Well hello Peredur, should have known you'd be here....lol.
Tried to get the other amigo on here, but he's too busy posting on my new facebook page 'The amazing quarries and mines of North Wales', and filling the feed up.....;D
