I'm currently doing a bit of research into a couple of first aid/ambulance team trophies from the North East.

The Durham Mines Inspection District Ambulance League, comprising South Durham, Westmoreland, and North Yorkshire starts up in 1903 and the Donald Bain Shield awarded from 1904. I'm yet to track down where this now resides.

Also the Lloyd Wharton shield awarded from 1907 to 1991, which i've tracked down to the St Johns Ambulance Museum in London (seems to be most aimed at surface/railway workers, but in latter years the Scouts are competing)

If anyone has already done any research on either, you could save me the effort of trawling the old newspapers for the winners :flowers:
