I would be grateful for a bit of clarification.

I have a photo in my dad's mining collection which he had titled "Gov & Co".

Having asked Don Borthwick he was certain that it is Middlehope Lead Mine and the link to geograph seems to agree.

All seems to match, however on AditNow, Middlehope High Level Mixed Mine is described as Governor and Company, additionally on this mine is a pic by chriscambo25 that looks rather like the entrance to Old Middlehope Fluorite Mine.

It seems a rather complex area of mines, does anyone have a definitive answer?

There are (I think) three albums which need edits and sorting - basically all based around Middlehope Old Level.

However - your question - on some old plans the level in your picture is sometimes named as Middlehope Governor and Company's Level. Therefore your caption is correct.

The place for your image on aditnow is Middlehope Lead Mine. The location is incorrect, however -should be a little to the east.

This level is presently blocked not far from the entrance. Last worked in 1970s when an attempt was made to reopen for fluorite.

If an editor is reading this, I can help with sorting images and names.

I'll put them onto Middlehope Lead Mine presently.
