Hi
Always been facinated by mines, used to wonder why till i found out Grandad was a miner in Lancashire at the turn of the century, Coal hewer it says on the census , dad grew up in the pit village, but moved away, am 53 now, but if i got the chance i would like to give it a go, fantastic site cant stay off it !! 😉

I live near Evesham just south of Brum, have been down a couple of tin mines and a silver mine, and some slate workings, but its coal that does it for me, dont know why !
Have a degree in Geology so i know a bit about coal measures and the layout of workings but never been down one ...yet !must get profile sorted out

Hi and welcome to another member from Worcestershire. We're a bit short on collieries in the south of the county, but there's quite a few in the north. I used to work for Dowty Meco in Worcester (Now Joy Mining)
