There used to be quite a few people submitting underground photos on this site from the SW, but over the past year or so most seem to have drifted away. Hopefully the site didn't offend anybody

There has been a suggestion (ok, I suggested it!) of a Cornish meet towards the end of next summer
my orders are to sit here and watch the world go by

There are quite a few, but try these

http://www.tinmining.co.uk/

Its the St Just Mine Research Society

http://carnbreaminingsociety.co.uk/

There is quite a lot of exploration going on down there.

Visit www.mine-explorer.co.uk and look at the thread "Carbis Bay Crew"

Further to the west is the Devon Mining Club and the Plymouth Caving Group.

Great to hear Plymouth/Devon is further west from St Just/Carbis Bay. Always thought it was a bit wet around here!

A meet down here would be a great idea and underground is the best place to be during a Cornish 'Summer'
It's generally drier for a start

And there was me thinking that the Cornish weather was six months of wind and rain, followed by winter 😮

Come on down  theres lots to see, if you have a light :smartass:
If it can't be grown it has to be mined.

I've not got any experience exploring, but it is something I want to do round here!

If you want to meet up let me know.

Would love to go down Crofty again (last time was 2006), when they are able to do this again.
But not fit enough to do lots of rope work etc and no experience either of all that sort of stuff. (Should cut down on the pasties!)
Is it safe to come out of the bunker yet?

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
