My main headlamp for walking around is a 300 Lumen £5 from china cheapie. Works well enough, fairly sturdy, although I wouldn't attempt a crawl unless I had to. Why on earth would I want a heavire, dimmer, bulkier lamp instead? I have Oldhams, but I don't use em.
I appreciate the nostalgia, and that you don't need to see that far to get around, but you can see the entire length of the chamber, in good detail these days, and it doesn't cost the earth.
Anyone else old enough to remember when a 1 amp bulb in an Oldham was "Bright"

Quite remember it, the funny thing was, we had absolutely no problem getting about in whatever size of mine we explored back in those days.
