That should be ok now - press refresh a couple times if it doesn't show immediately and I'll prune these last couple posts at a later point.

Hi Maurice
Loaded Rooman up with so much info he will be away for a month.
Just purchased the bulb and testing kit for air samples for the GR6. While at the MM I went mad and purchased a Yard Stick to go with it. More to exhibit.
There is a mining lecture on Tuesday 7th April at 7-30 at Hudd Poly at Heritage Quay in main block by the Hudd Civic Society. Covering where possible round Huddersfield Town Centre.
Will have to stretch to outlying areas and Holmfirth as there is very little to see in the town centre other than maps and bore hole results.
Mine Lectures & Walks available for around Huddersfield

I picked up a beautiful fully chromed unfired GR6 last year ,dated 1958 /60 Protector said on their web site that "a few were chromed"
I was wondering why ?
Royal visits , eccentric managers ?

I think that they would have been for presentations.
Like the brass bonnet type 6.

I don't know , this has a mag lock , and the base was soldered on after it was chromed as it is still brass ,it's a real quality item all the rivets are also still brass as is the badge
I also have a fully chromed Protector type 1A which looks like it was assembled prior to dipping and I have an old W E TEALE also fully chromed but alas not in the best of health
and a CEAG B3 fully chromed Lol

I have the protector catalogue from the 70's / 80's of all their presentation pieces , and it's not in there

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
