Just a reminder the conference is being held over 3 days at the Black Country Museum. If the first one is anything to go by this will be a very interesting and entertaining event

A lot of the event involves coaches and meals . The venue will not be cheap.

You will find the shortest session is the Sunday. If you go for one day then do the Saturday which will be all day. In comparison I have just paid for my 2020 NAMHO that was £143. That does not include lunches. One of the money spinners for venues are the tea breaks where a premium is charged for providing beverages and biscuits. It's the commercial world we now live in.

What I can tell you is the previous conference was held 2 years ago at Elsecar and was really good. We also received a copy of the proceedings produced by the Newcomen Society and that was not cheaper either.

I have copied the costs down for each day I don't think its terribly expensive. If you have ever tried to set up a conference the overheads can be massive

CONFERENCE DAY TICKETS ~ £30-£60
FRIDAY 15th May 2020
DAY ONLY – £40 Includes papers, lunch, and tea & coffee
DAY & EVENING – £60 As above, plus evening meal at Sandfields and coach from Dudley and back.
SATURDAY 16th May 2020
DAY ONLY – £45 Includes papers lunch, and tea & coffee
NB BCLM’s “Red by Night” programme of active engine workings can be visited in the evening (extra BCLM entry cost).
SUNDAY 17th May 2020 (the sunday is only 1/2 day)
DAY ONLY – £30 Includes papers and tea and coffee
