I hope it comes off. World Heritage status is a boon to Ironbridge (though only thr bridge itself holds the status). I just hope they don't overdo it and end up like Cornwall.

I personally hope it will not affect the exploring in the area, I could see somewhere like Croesor and Rhosydd getting sealed up fairly quickly.

Err, not quite. The WHS listing is for the Gorge not the bridge. The WHS is the whole area see the map at :-
https://whc.unesco.org/en/list/371/multiple=1&unique_number=425

If you drive into the area the boundaries of the WHS are marked by road signs. The listing of the site is not just for bridge (although significant in itself) but for the industries of the Gorge and their developers and activities.

EDIT: url changed (thought I got the map I only got the thumbnail)

Easy. Zero chance of any actual industry, just a playground for the grockles!

Trying to open a real business in a World Heritage Site isn't worth the aggro. Just the sort of economic shot in the arm that Blaenau needs.

The other thing about WHS listing is things are still lost to neglect. Lots of the mining sites in Cornwall have been tidied up and then left to rack and ruin being WHS listed does not guarantee everything is preserved.:(

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
