Has anyone been through recently and can give the heads up on the condition of the ropes etc as i will be venturing down there in the coming weeks?
I have some rope that is to good to scrap and would be a perfect replacement for the ropes if they are knackered, don't fancy carrying them in if they are not req'd.

It was definitely done in September but you need to be patient about a reply, they may be sleeping 😮

Passed a team on the way up today so you might get some info if they survived!

Probably UCET. I think it was more of a mooch around Rhosydd etc than the CRTT itself.

There were two clubs coming through today (not UCET) but we rendezvoused with both.

There is a knot in the pulley for the boat/canoe which caused one person to go overboard. (no issue arising, all was well). The problem was resolved but it may recur.

No other problems were reported by either party coming through (and I did speak to them)

Pete K - was it you I found wandering around at the top of the Rhosydd incline (by the double wheel) ?

Not me, I was guiding in Cwmorthin that day but passed a few of you in the Lakeside Café.

Too many trips ;)

I saw Chris in the café taking a group up - I guess you were hiding in there somewhere ::)

I was in the cafe too, sadly missed you Ian and some of the others, must have been the time I was in the loo. I was met by a couple asking if I was on the UCET trip in the car park tho.

Just a heads up, you will need to take your own dinghy because the Canadian canoe in the chamber of horrors is not just waterlogged but also stuck midway between Creosor and Rhosydd, a couple of mates went earlier and and found it in this position, they tried to free it but the paracord is stuck fast, they were sweating on a callout so had to leave it as they found it.

I believe someone may have been doing a bit of work to the fixed rigging recently, quite a long day out it seems...

It was indeed a long day out for them, they read all they could from recent trip reports to get an idea of the fixed rigging status and took a chance and took rope but went without a boat of their own, so they had to back track...win some lose some.

We're reliably informed that the boat has now been sorted.

Yeah Richard Hill mentioned on Sunday that everything there is in order, including the boat! That reminds me... CRTT is a definite must do before I leave Wales next year! Wish I had gotten into the mine exploration long before last year!

They didnt complain mate and they still had a good day out, but it just took a fair bit longer than planned 🙂.
I only posted for a heads up to make folk aware, seeing that on one of our through trips our explorer200 ended up getting the mother of all rips in it so would have been useless had we needed it....thats all ;)
Ill pass your many lols along:thumbup:
