Bridge cave is a nice little bimble!

There's plenty to choose from on this page though:

Where are you Staying? SWCC or the Stump??

I hear Big Pit is very good - however despite frequent good intentions I haven't made it there yet! ::)

I wasn't aware of that Peter, thanks for that.

If I'm going to stay in the area I go to SWCC.

Good non-cave underground sites in the area are a bit thin on the ground, unfortunately. The comments above more or less cover it. There will be a few railway tunnels if you are into that sort of thing.

How far time/distance are you prepared to travel?

Underground only or surface walks/features?

2nd vote for Big Pit, add a visit to Blaenavon Ironworks museum (also free) as well at the same time.

Within an hour or so's travel you have the Forest of Dean, Cwmystwyth, Elan valley, numerous minor trials/mines of mid Wales and of course all the S Wales caves... Take your pick!

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
