I know there are a lot of mechanical engineers on here and I have been trying to find (with no joy) a 2BA deep socket hex bit "nut spinner" ideally or at the least a 2BA deep socket 1/4" drive.

Any pointers?

You can buy BA size tube spanners. They may suite your purpose?

Les: Thanks, the tube spanner might open up a possibility to moding it for use in a hex screw driver electric driver.

Nick: I have a nut spinner already - I would like a nut driver that can be powered in a hex driver...

Model engineers don't like anything as modern as metric threads, never mind anything as freaky as a powered screwdriver :-)

2BA hex full nut actual spanner size is 8.23mm or 0.324", so that rules out an M5 socket, also the 3/8" socket for UNF/UNC range, so the 2BA box spanner sounds sensible. Car boot or Autojumble time.

Mike, if you need any stainless 2BA plain- (or, full-) nuts PM me and I'll send you some over.

There now follows a brazen and shameless plug, so readers of a sensitive nature might want to look away.....now!

Thanks Mark, but I am metric where possible, I build up a lot of special sffects firing control systems and oddly the terminal posts come with 2BA thread where everything else is metric. Doing up 100's of nuts manually is no fun, hence hex bit driver...

Even less fun would be to tap out M5 nuts to 2BA thread,
but at least you'd be able to use a metric 8mm socket!!

as you're all-too-aware, electrical stuff is still festooned with BA thread fasteners, even in this day and age.

The box spanner option seems the best bet and knock up some sort of adapter for the driver.

I saw that one whilst searching, I need a deep one, that one is too shallow. I have to accommodate around 20mm of thread sticking out.

2ba 25mm long -4620k cromwell tools.

I would ask on a classic landrover site as they use 2ba a lot and I've seen mention of a long ba socket set...
