A message was posted in a family history list about Eston, I have copied some of the message below.

http://www.pancrack.tv/eston.html  Although my family were from East Cleveland and not Eston which featured in the film I have heard about the campaign through my purchase of the DVD. Eston Nab and Lazenby Bank are currently up for sale and the Friends of Eston Hills have a vision of purchasing it to enable them to erect a landmark miners memorial for the top of the hills to the 375 who died beneath, plus a major heritage trail, cleaning up of mine sites and Eston Nab, extensive footpath restoration and wildlife and conservation work. They say they are moving a mountain to make history but they have a long way to go and the deadline for the sale has now been set to 12th December. For full information please see the following link www.estonhills.info

I already made a contribution a few weeks ago, but forgot to mention the campaign.

I got an article in the local rag about it.

Sadly the amount of money needed is astronical and the time very limited.
