Just a thought...

Anybody in N W Wales want to make a regular / semi-regular one night a week mining trip?

Probably fairly Blaenau biased - and nothing formal. Just a meet up for an evening explore / dig / whatever and pub.

Any thoughts or takers? Anybody else with nothing to do one night a week πŸ˜‰

Good idea, count me in
It's a great idea actually....a lot of the best trips are organised "amongst friends" rather than through this (or any other) web site or club so meeting up and putting faces to names is always a good thing?

Whilst on the subject (kind of.....) I find I have a day free on Saturday next weekend (10th) if anyone fancies a day out? In the Bleanau-ish area?

Yes , a good idea. Could do it about October onwards when it gets a little less hectic at work during the week.
I just cannot believe it, I have just realised that the last time I went for a serious underground trip was during the Christmas holidays!!! Bloody hell!!

Good idea. Probably be a bit far for me after work though. 😞

Although if you ever venture down Corris way I will hope to join you

Seems I've missed out quite a bit too, few strolles round Cwmorthin has been it for me this year 😞 . Let me know.

Count me in. Won't be able to make every week but would make a couple a month I'm sure.

Wednesdays are no good for me but I'd be interested in doing it some other night if I can resolve the transport problem.

Sorry, Sinker, I am otherwise engaged on Saturday 10th (http://www.festrail.co.uk/content/publish/specialevents/Super_Power_2011.shtml) so can't join you then in Blaenau.

Hiya Skimble! Enjoy your day on the 10th, it looks great!
If we make it a regular week-day evening meet, then you can always catch a lift with me? Also Suboffender? You're in Bangor too? Always room for another!

I'm in Blaenau so I'd be interested in coming along when I can. Probably not every week but maybe once or twice a month. πŸ˜‰

Thanks for all the positive feedback :)

How about a first trip next Thursday and see how it goes?

Absolutely nothing formal, nobody's expected to turn up each work. Let's just see how it goes!

Any thoughts on a 1st trip?

Thursday's good for me. I'd suggest a venue we don't have to walk for hours to get to, apart from that anywhere.

Thursday a-ok
Where and what time?
Agree that somewhere without too much of a trek to get to would be handy.....suggestions?

Any suggestions for Thursday... Where to go, what time (allowing journey time after work and all that) etc.

Any thoughts

Is there anywhere nearby (close to Bangor area) or if it's the Blaenau area, somewhere that you can park easily and walk to? To save time?
Somewhere on the way? Gwydyr Forrest area?
Time-wise I'm looking at Bangor area 6 o'clock-ish and Blaenau area 6.30-ish.

Suboffender: A lift is no problem. You're in Bangor right? PM me your location and contact details and I can pick you up on the way to "where-ever"

Two ideas then :)

From DaveL - Conglog. Interesting, but small, mine, easy walk up from Cwmorthin. Would easily be up, round and down in a couple of hours even allowing for taking photos.

Alternative - could pop up to Diffwys for a look, possibly could do this next time out?

If we made it a shorter trip 1st tme round that would leave more pub time to throw around some ideas for future evening trips.
