The above link will take you to Derbyshire rail forum which had a discussion re third rail 4 wheel locos being used at Pindale quarry near Hope, these Metro Vic built machines sound very interesting indeed and we got to the bottom of what they were but it seems there are scant few photographs, as can be seen I got the build details and subsequent history but was wondering if any one else can add anything else to the history or add a photo or 10?

Do you know who was operating the quarry at the time? If was one of the companies who got subsumed into Blue Circle then there may still be records in Lafarge's keeping, and I can ask the current manager at Hope if so.

I can say it wasnt taken at hope the scene is wrong if it would have been. pindale quarry wasnt earles either it was hadfields then tarmac until it shut it is/was owned by g&t earles then Blue O now lafarge.
