As part of Countryfile's excursion to Co Durham they featured the relationship between farming and the mining activities of the County over the years.

Part of that was a brief but nevertheless interesting piece on Rogerly Mine.

I'm sure if anyone missed it the good old iPlayer will provide a second chance.

There's a couple more mine related programs on tonight.

8.00pm Channel 4 - Buried Alive - The Chilean Mine Rescue. Going on C4's usual programming style this will doubtless consist of a bunch of little-known celebrities showing us what the miners could have done to increase the value of their temporary 'des-res'.

8.30pm BBC4 - A History of the World.
Adam Hart-Davis talks about Newcomen.
