I did see a Chinese miners lamp on the market recently, a new product, and I checked the compliance codes they published and they were superceded a few years ago.
So yes, they do print anything they like on them.
The notion that these Chinese manufactured intrinsically safe lamps comply with or are tested to the same standards as the Oldham DL16 is pretty far fetched.
Some of them are perfectly reasonable lamps, just not made to the standard advertised.
