I know the bar you mean and it does have some bookmarks but a much shorter list than the Google one. I'm assuming that once I installed the Google toolbar this list stopped updating.
Underneath the Google toolbar I appear to have a Yahoo toolbar and no yellow star although I can access the yellow star via Local Disk (C) which has the full list so they are on IE. I'm not sure why I have a Yahoo toolbar as well; I fear my senior moments are gathering pace.

Carnkie, PLEASE do yourself a huge favour and download Firefox 3 here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/?utm_id=Q108&utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&gclid=CKbgscjevZcCFUog3godbm0ISg . It will import all your bookmarks ( and even has a little add on that allows you to save them to a remote server so that you can synchronise two or more 'puters ).Internet Explorer 7 has a lot of security issues, and if you still run IE 6.....well just don't ...please.
Firefox is safer, tends to be faster and is more secure. I'm typing this using the version for Linux (jump in toadstone it works fine !!)

John 🙂

Edit Oh yes Firefox also has the Google search box (in fact it had it first) but you can choose other search engines from a dropdown menu.

That is odd, both mine show the same list!

I cannot comment on Yahoo toolbar, I haven't got that.

Right it's downloaded. It imported the bookmarks okay although not the complete set that was on Google. Never mind that's not the end of the world. Need to find my way around it now but as you say at first use it does appear quicker. Thanks for that John.
