I thought it was a really amazing programe as it showed how much the quarries have changed over the years. Interesting to see how much Oakeley have come into the underground tour section since closure in 1997.
there ware a lot of people on that programe I used to know, but are not with us anymore. The man splitting the slate block at the 'bone' with wedges at Llechwedd was John Griffiths. His mother was the teacher at the school at Rhiwbach slate mine.
