There's a wee bit of Google Earth trickery at this http://www.livephysics.com/ptools/dig-hole-through-earth.php  which allows you to select somewhere to start digging through the earth and it tells you where you'll pop out.

From hereabouts, I'll end up somewhere in the sea south of New Zealand:

So do I so I'm wondering about the trees outside the tunnel entrance. :confused: Or is that the sea bed?
