Yes please!!

One minor point, could the days format be changed to be in line with most other calenders, i. e. Sunday to Saturday? What do other think?

Similarly yes please!

I rather like having Saturdays and Sundays together on a calendar as I tend to think of weekends as a single unit, thus splitting them across two lines rather confuses me.

I would assume that if there is indeed a calendar, then you shall be asking for photographs from all? I'd better dust off the camera and beg swmbo... ::)

I half agree with you on that Vanoord, the only problem is it is different to every other calender I use and that confuses me!

QUESTIONS:

A) Open to all?

B) subject matter. Underground or Aboveground?

answers on a postcard please................
Better to regret something you have done - than to regret something you have not done.

Um, sticking my neck out here, as SimonRL is probably enjoying curry night...

(a) If you mean: can anyone contribute photos, then yes please!

(b) Underground preferably... but I suspect that the calendar will be what people request (reasonably!), so if there is a desire to see a one or two above-ground pics then they will be included. I'd suggest that excellent above-ground pics would be given priority over poor underground pics, but for equal quality, underground should be preferred?

What do you want to see?!
😉

I think everyone's photography has changed over the last year in some way or other, people are improving, people are using fenixes instead of light cannons etc.

Also a huge number of new mines have been added, many of which are from regions where photographs of which were not included in last year's calendar such as the south east of Britain, Ireland, a few from Scotland and even some from Spain.

I want a calendar for 2009 please.

I thought that the photo of the month over this year was going to be the calendar for next year?

I'll quite happily go with the majority opinion on this. If people want it to go...

Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

Instead of...

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday

...then it can do so.

But as Vanoord says, I can't help but think of the weekend as a unit rather than two separate days at either end of the working week.

Any ideas as to how we're going to choose the pics?
Will it be 'photo of the month' or perhaps people sending in what they consider is their best photo(s), and then for the best enteries to be decided by admins.

More photos than required would be good. It was over subscribed last year so we were able to pick and choose.

I'm hoping this year's will run smoother though - I ended up taking three days off work last year to sort it all out!

Perhaps another competition is needed

Not sure about using the top rated photo for the calendar; I've nothing against the healthy split of above/below ground photos on the web site, but the calendar was designed to showcase the best of underground photography.

However, as Vanoord says, a couple of the very best above ground may creep in.

Last year's contributors were:

January - Ferret
February - Miles
March - Simonrl
April - Barney
May - Nimord (Colonel Mustard as he now is)
June - Vanoord
July - Clunk
August - Mole
September - Dark Prince
October - Tin Miner
November - Darkstar
December - Mike Leary

Between people in that list who want to submit again this year, and stacks of other people on here with photos easily good enough to include I think we'll manage.

Of those who had photos in the calendar last year do you want the same month again?

Perhaps easiest if people who want to submit photos reply to this post with a copy and paste of the section below and indicate their username against month of choice.

January -
February -
March - Simonrl
April -
May -
June -
July -
August -
September -
October -
November -
December -

Last year's formula worked well enough, three photos (all landscape please) so all I need is your three very best photos, as high resolution as possible, plus a high resolution version of your avatar emailed to [email protected].
