In an article I wrote some time ago I stated that there was no significant tin streaming running south to north in the Redruth-Illogan-Camborne area. This was taken from the excellent book by Roger Penhallurick “Tin in Antiquity”. Coming from such an eminent source I thought I’m on safe ground here. Wrong. Allen Buckley rang me up and said he had discussed this with RP, they were good friends, and convinced him he was wrong. AB subsequently wrote a paper for the Trevithick Society on the subject. He sent me a copy of this which I have uploaded. I’m afraid it’s not very neat and the Tehidy accounts are difficult to read.
The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.
