Out of curiosity, I wonder what this person looks like now.
And don't blame me if it isn't mine related, I didn't post this picture.

25 November 1958 in Redhill, Surrey) is most notable for appearing as an eight year old child in the central image of the iconic United Kingdom television Test Card F, along with Bubbles the Clown.

The card was developed by her late father George Hersee, an engineer for the BBC in 1967 and used on television in the UK and elsewhere for more than three decades, usually while no programmes were being broadcast. According to Keith Harmer, a collector of test cards, Carole is in the Guinness Book Of Records as the person who's appeared on television for more hours than anyone else and has appeared for an estimated total of 70,000 hours, equivalent to nearly eight whole years.

She went on to attend Farnham Comprehensive School and as an adult became a seamstress for a theatrical costumiers. She has created costumes for several West End theatre productions and film productions including Flash Gordon and Dangerous Liaisons.

Surely you mean don't kill the image?

You could always move this thread to general chat - I don't think we need to create an entire forum dedicated to Clunk's posts just yet ๐Ÿ˜‰

Sorry. Binkie has died. I got bored. Plus the image was on the random image number 1 slot when I came on earlier.

No need to apologise! ๐Ÿ™‚

I wonder what the odds of the random image throwing up the test card is....?

Ay, no apology needed Clunk.

Now then Mr Vanoord, stop telling people off and do something useful like write up Saturday's trip in your Member Journal or finish uploading the photos :curse:

Currently jsut short of 5,000 valid* photographs, across 4,066 albums and nearly 1,481 mines.

Minor stats... 15 lightboxes ๐Ÿ˜ž, 25 notes, 71 documents ๐Ÿ˜ž and 312 votes/comments**.

Mind you, the counts are growing daily, and the site hasn't been taking member uploads for a year even yet.

Next round of updates over the next two nights; new mineral/product types and a Personal Document area for each member like the Personal Albums.

* Valid meaning not deleted, sometimes images are deleted by the person who uploaded them, sometimes by an admin if they're really poor or in the wrong place. So the number of images recorded in the database is more, but isn't strictly accurate.

** Apparently 311 of those on the Man of Dinorwic!

Binkie is the Dark Places server.

I hope Root gets him back up and running soon.

I tell you, it's no fun looking after servers. No fun at all. Last weekend one of mine went down (minimal impact on this site fortunately, it was the primary mail server, not a web one), Miles had his problems meaning ME had to be moved and now Binkie is poorly. We're all plagued with IT problems ๐Ÿ˜ข

So do I. Not looking good though. Binkie has been down for about 10 hours now. Root still working on her. He is getting tired now. I may take him a thermos of tea in a mo.

I believe Root has rebuilt the server and is transferring data across, sounds like he'll be up and running later today perhaps.

don't use a bookmark, type it as you see it above.

Sorry for the downtime here is a progress report
Swildons visit tonight is still on. Meeting at the Priddy Green at 19:30hrs. Root is picking up going under around 5-5.30pm, back to Chippenham to pickup Ruddy at around 5.30-6pm, then picking up rooks (will phone) between 6.30-7pm.

12:39hrs 30th Aug 2007

Started to Transfer the minimum 6gigs between servers.

12:21hrs

Loading 140mb MySql database into Binkie, initial Apache config done, more config and data transfers yet to do.

11:59hrs

Binkie installed and now 1gig/s network connected, time to configure services and load data.

11:33hrs

The DataBase is ok. Its been testd on a low end box with minimum requirements. I am in the progress of rebuilding the true server (binkie) with the right level of linux however after that a minimum of 6gigs of data will have to be transfered accross my gigabit LAN network and configuration done to enable it to work so darkplaces wont be up for some hours yet.

29th Aug 2007

Binkie suffered a major hard disk failure 10mins after I arrived home around 2pm. A loud horrid WHINEing sound, I knew it wasnt good. I tried to FSCK good the drive and contents but I could see it was useless so checked my automated backups had worked to rebuild the server. While it was down I thought I would try a few updated Linux versions. It seams the MySql databases versions have moved on a bit so initally I thought the database was screwed up untill I finally tried a tried and tested Linux version which showed me all was ok. I was also very knackered having had 2-3hrs sleep at most after the compton martin mine visit and getting at at 4am for a visit to T5. I was in no state to think about complex things and I should have got some sleep before faffing about. The importance of sleep can never underestimated.

Moral of the story is "if you cant do it go to bed" :D

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
