Tonight took a visit to a working on Cartmell fell, just across the eastury from my house.... Not much here - just a sizaable tip, with evidence of outcrop working on a silurian band of slate, belived to be the same one as at Kirkby. I anly took film camera - so wait a few days... 😉
ps if there are any slate workings that anoyone want's us to visit in Cumbria - then just ask... 😉
Must also get up to: Carrock, and Seathwaite, greenside, and a few mineral mines around settle, yorkshire...

Modernisation: Most proable visit to Lingmoor, elterwater and thrang crag... still much to do here.... or possibly Warton Crag iron mines, very near....

At some point this week we thought it's be a good idea to undertake another look at Old Man quarries. I can have your word that the photos will be better. On the same day my dad & I would like to photograph a flooded sump in the coppermines (courteneys cross cut). Ps beware of 200 ft shaft at end of level!! 😉

another sucessfull trip at that special langdale slate mine, tripod had a bit of an accident, and fell apart whilst walking down the hillside, so had to use internal flash on most pics, though they weren't bad considering.
Also went to another old quarry a bit further up the valley, to find a nice compressor still in an abandoned shed. Pics were obviosly taken!

regards
