so if you guys were buying a first must be good for everything helmet, which would you choose? i understand that different manufacturers have different fitment but i'm talking on specs alone?

Personally, any climbing helmet from a reputable brand so long as I'd tried it on for size and it could take a lamp bracket. The Camp ones look good but am never certain that I have thick enough skin to wear one. Others will no doubt argue that everything from builders helmets found in laybys to folded up newspaper works equally well!

It was in the bin 'cos Mr Pitts handed it back to me after stripping all the foam out of it with a cheery "I took all the annoying foam off the headband mate" :lol: I have no idea why he did it. But if you want to slowly scalp yourself you'll find it very useful!

All the foam fell off mine about five years ago which is why I'd like a new'un. Probably goes some way to explaining why my hair generally looks like it does!

Much the same thing as the Camp Rockstar I think, a no-frills pudding bowl style helmet with a cradle rather than sweaty foam padding.

Just need to get my arse into gear and find a shop where I can try one of the two on really!
