Following a bit of a hunt around in the stock, I've discovered a handful of Fenix TK10s that could do with being moved on.

The manufacturer's description states:
Quote:

Featuring a blazing 225 lumens output, the TK10 is a stunning tactical light. The new removable grip ring enables a tenacious grip on the light whilst providing an effective anti roll feature. The grip ring can be replaced with the supplied spacer and pocket clip if preferred.

The TK 10's orange peel reflector delivers excellent throw in combination with intense spill light for superior peripheral vision. Ideal for military / police use during room clearing operations etc.

The Fenix TK (tank series) features a powerful, solid, durable and waterproof design intended for rugged outdoor and military use. The TK10 uses two CR 123A batteries and maintains excellent constant brightness with two output modes : General mode, which can last for a whole night on one pair of batteries and can be used for general illumination, and Turbo mode, which can be used whenever a high - powered light is needed - Search and rescue, long range target identification, etc..

Features

* Cree Premium (Q5) 7090 XR - E LED with a life of 50,000 hours
* Two modes of output, selected by turning the bezel (patented) :
* Turbo mode : constant 225 lumens - 1.5 hours.
* General mode : constant 60 lumens - 10 hours.
* Highly efficient focussed head, throws beam over 200 metres
* Digitally regulated output - maintains constant brightness
* Low battery indication system
* Uses two CR 123A lithium batteries
* 136.5 mm (length) by 35 mm diameter
* Made from durable aircraft grade aluminium
* Premium Type 111 hard anodized anti abrasive finish
* 153 gram weight - excluding batteries
* Waterproof to IPX - 8 standard
* Toughened ultra - clear glass lens with anti - reflective coating
* Tactical tailcap switch with momentary-on function
* Tactical grip ring (removable)allows for a cigar type hold and secure grip in all conditions
* Anti - roll, slip resistant body design
* Includes holster, lanyard, two spare o rings and a spare rubber switch boot

The important bit!

Fenix have recently released the new TK11, which is an upgrade to the TK10 which can also be powered by a single 18650 cell. This gives a significantly longer run-time than a pair of CR123A cells - 2.7 hours compared to 1.5 hours.

The TK10 can not run on 18650 cells and will only run on CR123A cells.

However, it's still a very good flashlight and is very tough for its size. The light output is impressive and although the basic Lumens output (225) is matched by other, cheaper, imitators, the actual output measured in lux at 1m is about 60% above the competition.

It's also worth noting that the Fenix P3D, available from this http://www.excellentstuff.co.uk/Fenix-Flashlights/c-1-78/  has a similar output but in a smaller size.

Price

Retail price for the TK10 is £49.95 - these can be supplied for £38.95 including delivery and a pair of CR123A batteries. Please PM me for details!

Note: the TK10s which are available are black in colour, not the olive colour pictured.

Last couple left!

Just for comparison, I've now got the new TK11 in stock and it's a surprisingly different beast.

The TK10 uses an 'orange peel' reflector, whereas the TK11 has a smooth reflector. The difference is that the TK11 has a much more focused spot at the centre of the beam and thus a longer throw.

What this means is that it's going to be well-suited to illuminating the top of massive chambers, but for light painting in a relatively small space (eg walls 30' away) it'll be not much use at all.

Thus, for underground (and indeed general) use I'd tend to suggest the TK10 is still going to have the edge, even though it won't run on 18650 cells and thus has a shorter run time (about 1.5 hours on full).

Comparison pics to follow, when I get a chance to get underground!

Oooh, yikes, so you did! It's sat in my inbox, all lonely... apologies! 😞

What are you looking for, if that's not a daft question? ::)

If it's something for general above-ground use, I'd probably suggest either the L1 http://www.fenixlight.com/viewproduct.asp?id=69  or L2 http://www.fenixlight.com/viewproduct.asp?id=44 , which take one AA or two AAs respectively.

Whilst this might seem to be slightly contradictory advice, all I'll comment is that I've currently got an L1, a P3 and a TK10 - all of which I use regularly. Meanwhile, my father uses an L2 to check the chickens of an evening - it seemed easier not to confuse him with CR123s... 😉

Not a problem. Above-ground ground use that would be okay during a power failure. The L1 looks suitable but I'll go on your recommendation.

The L1 is what I keep in the car and take traveling with me... 😉

Not to mention it also acts as my back-up light on my helmet - it brought me out from 2 hours underground after a main lamp emitter failure (the well-documented Luxeon K2 problem).

It's a very nice little bit of kit, decent output and compact size: I'll drop you a PM with a pleasantly surprising price!
