A new event has been added to the Events page.

Event name: Croesor Rhosydd Novelty Inflatable

Date & time: 30/03/2013 at 10:00

Details: I'll probably get shot downn in flames for this one, accused of recklessness, an inevitable cave rescue callout, or just damned for doing something light hearted.

But.... Croesor Rhosydd Through Trip - Novelty Inflatables Edition

It's like the CRTT but you do it on a Novelty Inflatable...

All with me? Good.

Novelty Inflatable can be anything that takes your weight or anything that doesn't quite take your weight...

It could be a whale, a pirate ship, or knowing some of the likely candidates, something that very pointedly isn't either of those.

There are some conditions:

1) nobody allowed in the water without a wetsuit

2) nobody allowed in the water without a bouyancy aid

3) nobody who hasn't done the trip before

4) nobody who can't swim

5) there will be one boat at least to take bags across

Other than that it's up to you to find the wackiest watercraft :)

Slightly inspired by the SWCC using a killer whale a few years back (not a real killer whale before anybody jumps on the SWCC for marine mammal cruelty)

Thank you!

Can we keep that for another day? I suspect that we're all going to be very cold (and wet! 😉 ) by the end of this trip, I doubt anyone will want to hang around too much. :flowers:

Agree!! I vote we leave the mine and head straight to the curry house to round the day off!

And another idea....I'm sure we said (during the "high level planning meeting") that we would NOT reveal our infalatables until the last minute! I have a prize put aside for the best/most original inflatable on the day

i think that was SUSS rather than SWCC - I remember being blown away by Rob's photos at the time.

How 'Naughty' can the inflatables be? Naturally mine will have to be as outrageous as possible 🙂

For my novelty inflatable I'll be be in a dry suit (do I still have to wear a wet suit as well 😮 )
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

OMG! Who and Why?

I think it is clear where this will be used! It would be worth getting on the trip just to see that. Does anyone have a regular inflatable dinghy in red? We could pair those two up.

Top marks to you sir!

I saw someone wearing one at the boxing dip in Redcar last year.

It not an image you forget seeing a 6ft tall wang running into the sea.

Hope the inflatable shopping is going well folks :)

No giving the game away until the day!

Ed has very kindly volunteered to take photos so at least your last few minutes will be well documented
