Might be late, don't hang about for me, I'll catch up, make lots of noise (un-like last week) so I can find you.

Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it.

You lucky lucky lucky *@?+& people!!! Im part way through the first show in Tewkesbury, de-rig then of to Tunbridge Wells 😞 However, backstage catering do have cakes, You dont tonight :lol: :lol: Have a good one.

I owe you guys an apology...that entry in UCET was from one of my first visits to Brynglas and at the time I mistakenly thought that the area to the left of the tunnel in the pit was a shaft...it was very wet and muddy at the time. Subsequent visits have proved otherwise, but I can't alter the post because something has happened to the site and I've been locked out.
Anyway, I'm sorry you dragged your SRT kit up for nothing but I hope you enjoyed the mine, it's small but rather nice! :flowers:

No worries at all Teigl, it was a nice one for an evening visit :thumbsup: Will upload some photos later.

We all found it a very confusing little mine; it had the look of somewhere that had been worked by a small number of people with no real direction - the slate seemed very poor and those meandering tunnels all seemed to lead nowhere, or to slight rises. In some ways remininiscent of a metal mine.

A suprising number of artifacts when you looked closely (stricly speaking when Llion looked closely 'cos he's the one who tends to find them all!). A few unidentifiable objects though; the strange plasticene like substance and some debate about how they hauled blocks up the short distance to the mill.

Honestly, don't worry about it! It was a nice little mine and perfect for the evening - but would also be nice to go back and see the buildings in daylight.

I shall let you into a secret - none of us actually carried SRT kit to the mine anyway 😉 We wanted to get to the pub in time afterwards :thumbsup:

:angel: I was wearing mine under my clothes..... :lol:

I don't recall a "pub"...I only remember wandering around in the cold and rain 'till 3am looking for a shaft..... :tongue:

Great little mine, nice to socialise in the pub afterwards too, so all in all a Great Night Out!
Mrs Sinker nearly collapsed with shock when I wandered in at 2300 :lol: She's not used to seeing me 'till around 0200 the following morning! :lol: :lol: I told her that I will make up for it next week :devil:
Speaking of next week...Thursday Nighters 7th Of Febuary....a trip into Cwmorthin, but this time we are going up instead of down... 😉

Don't bother with the bit that looks like it's going to try and kill you - it doesn't go anywhere.

If you've got someone who doesn't mind getting wet to the waist, use them to good effect please - and send them with a camera. Ta. 😉
