Are you sure you've got the right location here ?
Those same pics show up in a 28DL report about Willowclose

I don't know that area at all personally, but there have been a lot of issues with unwanted attention in Northamptonshire iron mines recently.

Maybe someone with a bit more local knowledge can advise ?

Er, nothing like that anywhere close to Stanton Ironworks. Lots of cleared ground and some nice industrial units though. Chris is right, pictures are much further south in bandit country.

I suspected as much.

I would suggest that the actual location is not up for debate on a public forum due to recent loss of access in this area

Whilst I don't know that area well, I don't think there is that type of ironstone deposit there.
The Stanton site would be on the coalfield, not quite sure whether it is exposed or concealed there but near the join of the two?

Fairly certain the confusion has arisen because the 28DL posting the photos are from mentions "Stanton Ironworks Company"

Anyway, having taken advice from a local, the actual location of those photos is too sensitive at the moment, so i'm locking this thread.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
