I fancy the winch trip in Snailbeach but right now the dates don't find my rotations 😞 ( although that can change nearer the time  )
''the stopes soared beyond the range of our caplamps' - David Bick...... How times change .... oh, I don't know, I've still got a lamp like that.

That is unfortunate - obviously the longer you leave it however if you check you wil notice the winch trip is also available on the Monday too

Been booked on for months, and have pre-ordered enough beer to allow me to spout even more rubbish than usual.

So far we reckon there will be 9 or 10 of us there. Not quite as many as last year as I seem to recall thinking we could have fielded a full soccer team. Though I don't think we would have been much good.

You gave me one! I still haven't got it translated though. :(

And anyway, all the books they are really interested in they had already bought direct from the author..... :smartass:

The thing I find rather disconcerting, and a bit scary, are the prices some of my books would make these days... I have 30-odd years' accumulation of out-of-print titles, things like "Yesterdays' Golcondas" and Trounson, 1970s Dines.. those dreary-looking monochrome books about obscure mining areas in the Peaks ... many of them from library sell-offs and charity shops, plus whole box-files full of old mine plans.. a box of out-dated M&Q Regs... trade publications like the old ICI "Blasting Manual" and things like course notes and technical papers on rock-bolting patterns for tension bolts and gel bolts.

It's amazing what you accumulate in a 30-years' career of contract work.

''the stopes soared beyond the range of our caplamps' - David Bick...... How times change .... oh, I don't know, I've still got a lamp like that.

Disclaimer: Mine exploring can be quite dangerous, but then again it can be alright, it all depends on the weather. Please read the proper disclaimer.
