I've organised a trip into Clayton mine at Ecton Hill for ANMHS, there are still four places left so I'm now offering them to all site users on a first come, first served basis.

We're meeting at 10.30 this Sunday, in the informal parking area below Ecton hill. The trip will mostly be walking with an easy climb up into the main pipe working, water in the adit may be just over welly depth. Anyone attending needs to sign the Ecton Hill Trust's liability form (http://www.aditnow.co.uk/documents/Personal-Album-431/Ecton-Indemnity-Form.pdf ) and a donation to the trust is also requested.

The visit went off OK today, thanks to everyone who attended and especially to Andy Tickle for giving up his time to act as leader. I'm sure someone will do a proper report shortly and post some snaps up...

All being well, I'll be able to arrange for us to do Deep Ecton again next year!

First opportunity to thank both Adam & Andy for their part in making the trip possible and providing interesting info.

The excursion into Bag was great and I liked the lamp touch, can't beat the old methods 😉

Looking forward to Deep Ecton.

Peter.

Glad you enjoyed it Peter, I think the safety lamp was needed at the Waterbank end of the Bag level, not a place to linger for too long! It's a shame the shaft up to Waterbank is now choked, otherwise there'd be a good draught all the way down the level...
