I'm posting the following on behalf of Peter Claughton, the NAMHO Conservation Officer.

On Friday 1 May, at 7:30 pm, there will be a meeting at the King Edward Mine in Camborne, Cornwall, to discuss the proposed Research Framework for the Archaeology of the Extractive Industries (Mining and Quarrying) in England and the options for extending it to the whole of mainland Britain. This meeting, and others which will follow over the next two years, will provide an opportunity for mining and quarry interests to have an input into a comprehensive assessment of current archaeological knowledge, and the way in which it can be carried out. Please come along and find out what it involves.

Please contact either Kevin Baker kacbak{at}hotmail.com or Peter Claughton P.F.Claughton{at}exeter.ac.uk (0)1437 532578 for more information.

I don't know much, or for that matter, anything about this Dave. Is it based on this for example?

The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there.

Kevin and Peter might not thank you for posting email addresses, for naughty people to harvet and use for spam. They should be edited to read 🇦🇹 or {at] or similar instead of @

No (same Peter Claughton though). You can find more information on the News section of the NAMHO website http://www.namho.org/  - see Special issue of the NAMHO newsletter on that page or download it from this http://www.vmine.net/namho/Newsletter_special%20issue_2008.pdf .

As for Peter and Kevin's email addresses, they currently exist on so many web pages (as does my own) that using them en clair didn't seem to be an issue. But thanks for the thought (and the edit) anyway.

Dave
