I couldn't really think of a suitable place to post this as presumably it moved along the coast to various positions.

The caption of the photo suggests it was on its way to Blackhall from Hartlepool at the time, but I cannot find out a huge amount about it.

I'm guessing it was probably made by MAUNSELL, POSFORD & PAVRY according to this reference.

about the same when I started an apprenticeship in the 60s. ;D

When I opted out in 2004 I had to wear safety glasses to leave my office. :curse:

I was at Teeside Archives the other week for the project completion celebration of the British Steel Collection that they've been working on with Teeside University. They've got a fair bit of Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Co. Ltd material, next time I'm that way I'll have a nosey around to see if they've the plans for the tower...
