Hi!

I'd like to go to Rogerley mine!
May I visit and look for fluorit ? Must we ask an autorisation?

Its privately owned by an American gentleman. I believe that he does allow visitors, by prior arrangement, but the mine is only worked for 3 months each year. Its a hobby to him.

When closed, the mine is very securely locked down, and alarmed.

I cant suggest a way to contact him other than the usual Internet search.

Was it someone call Byron ?

Sadly I think he passed away very recently, so its probably not a good time to be asking anyone for visits.

Chris is correct about Byron passing away after a short illness late July.

Jesse was the gent I arranged a trip with there in 2007. They run it as a business so visits have to be pre-arranged and it's good of them to accommodate people.

Was saddened to hear of Byron's death. Only met him briefly the once, but they all made us very welcome that day.

today was their last day of mining ; they're now packing and leaving to come back 2011 june
