I'm currently writing a short article for a local industrial heritage magazine.
Theres a map of Beck Hole mines of questionable origins made by him thats since been reproduced in a couple of books.
I was wondering if anyone out there knew him or anything else he did ?
What i've heard from various sources :-
His map of Beck Hole was plotted from the surface using swinging crystals.
Tried to open Sil Howe in North Yorkshire as a tourist mine.
In the pre-NPHT days, gated Smallcleugh and tried to run guided tours to it from Darlington train station (Redwinch informed me where he threw the gate after removing it)
Moved to Australia.
Certainly sounds like a colorful character, does anyone else know anything ?
